Monsanto Tops, Falls On Outlook
The seed and herbicide giant said Q2 EPS rose 83% to $1.79 ex items, beating views by 7 cents. Sales grew 45% to $3.78 bil, above forecasts and the best growth in years. Monsanto (NYSE:MON - News) stuck to last week's raised '08 EPS outlook, which seemed to disappoint investors. Its shares fell 1%, though they closed near the day's high.
