NEW YORK (AP) -- Canadian agricultural product maker Agrium Inc. said Monday it plans refile antitrust documents with the Federal Trade Commission for its proposed $2.65 billion acquisition of UAP Holding Corp.
Agrium originally filed the form, required under the Hart-Scott-Rodino antitrust act, on Dec. 10 and refiled it on Dec. 28.
But on Jan. 11, it withdrew the submission to allow the FTC more time to review the deal.
The waiting period for the latest filing will expire on Feb. 26, unless it is ended early by the FTC or additional information is requested.
If the process is extended by Agrium or the FTC, the company said, the deal would not close until this summer.
Agrium shares rose $1.64, or 2.7 percent, to $63.07 in morning trading.
